Jean-Pierre Winandy

Jean-Pierre Winandy (born in 1953) has practised tax law (including in the area of M&A) for more than 22 years for international and national clients (corporate and private) in the financial area and for operating companies. His specialist areas include litigation (in tax matters) and corporate law. In addition to his law degree he has a DESS (Diploma of third cycle of studies) in economics (business management) from the University of Paris-1 (Panthéon Sorbonne). Before being a lawyer, he was active as an auditor and chartered accountant. He is a member of the board of the Luxembourg section of IFA (International Fiscal Association). He has published several books and numerous articles, especially on tax laws, and he is also a lecturer at the Central University of Luxembourg.

Dirk Leermakers
Dirk Leermakers (1955) joined the civil law practice at the Loyens Winandy office in Luxembourg. Since 1999, Dirk has been a partner in an important US firm, and the administrative partner and head of the corporate & securities practice group in that firm's Brussels office. Prior to that, Dirk practised in the corporate law department of another well-known law firm for 16 years. In addition, he has held a number of management positions in industry. In his diverse and colourful career, he has also acted as political attaché at NATO in Brussels for the Belgian government.

Gilles Dusemon   
Gilles Dusemon  (born 1970) has gained significant experience advising international clients on private equity and venture capital investments. Prior to joining Loyens Winandy, Gilles worked in the Luxembourg and New York offices of a   London  law firm advising on corporate and tax law matters. His specialist areas include general corporate law, investment funds law and tax law. In addition to his law degree, Gilles holds a LL.M. in International Taxation from New York University. Gilles is also a member of several working groups within ALFI, the Luxembourg Investment Fund Association, and acts more in particular as ALFI coordinator of the Savings Tax Directive implementation. He has published several articles, and has been a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars.
